Assiniboine War Lance
Made of highly polished wood,
Indian lances were often decorated with eagle feathers
mounted on a strip of deerskin in such a way that they streamed
wind as the warrior carried the lance, and yet no easily
bent or broken. Two type of lances were used on the Plains,
hunting lance and the war lance.
Here we have a long war
lance with hand forged blade securely mounted with wapiti
The lance is decorated with beadwork, feathers and silk ribbons. Approx. 215 cm.
